The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On May 24th, at approximately 1:50 A.M. Decatur Police responded to the 1200 block of N Dennis in reference to a shooting.  Officers arrived on scene and observed an individual with gunshot wounds. 

The investigation revealed the victim was asleep on his bed when numerous guns shots were fired into the residence with one round striking the victim in the abdomen and another round which struck him in the back.  The victim would survive and had no suspect information.

A witness observed two subjects dressed in all black running N/B in the 1700 block of W Grand after the shooting.  The subjects were both approximately 5’9” tall and 150lbs.

NEWS RELEASE 5-11-11

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.On June 23rd 2010 officers made contact with the owner of Debbie’s Dance Studio, located at 2828 N. Main Street. The owner advised officers that several business checks had been stolen from the business and were being cashed.

During the investigation over the past few months detectives have discovered that multiple checks have been cashed, totaling several thousands of dollars. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspect who was cashing the stolen checks. The surveillance footage shows the same suspect on different occasions using a fake ID to cash the stolen checks. We need your help in solving this crime.
The suspect is a w/m in his late 20’s to early 30’s. He is approx. 5ft 10inches tall and weighs 200lbs. The suspect also wears glasses.
