Crime of the week 11-14-22
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On November 7th, 2022, at approximately 11:15 P.M. Decatur Police responded to the 300 block of W. Main St. in reference to a home invasion.
Officers arrived on scene and observed forced entry to the residence. Officers spoke to the victim who advised he was asleep in his bedroom when an unknown suspect forced entry to his front door. The suspect walked to the bedroom and a struggle ensued. The suspect punched the victim multiple times in the facial area causing injury. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and left the residence on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect was described as a b/m, 6`2”, 210 lbs., wearing a black colored Carhart brand hoodie, black colored pants, and gloves.

The Decatur Park District Police needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
Between April 21st and April 22, unknown subject(s) burglarized the Nelson Park Maintenance Building, stealing several cellular phones and numerous miscellaneous tools, all valued around $4,000. The phones and tools all had engravings on them identifying them as property of the Park District. There is no further information about this crime at this time and there are currently no suspect(s).

News Release 4/19/12
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
Between 4/7/12 and 4/8/12, unknown subject(s) arrived at the Good Samaritan Inn, located at 920 N. Union and attempted to steal copper piping from the freezer compressor on the exterior of the building causing nearly $1,400 of damage and repairs.
There is no further information about this crime at this time. There are no suspect(s) at this time however it is believed the suspect(s) may have been burned on the hands, arms or face from the refrigerant that expelled from the piping when they were damaged.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
Between 4/13/12 and 4/15/12, unknown subject(s) stole the batteries out of semi-trucks at several locations in Decatur. The batteries are worth anywhere from $80 to $250 each. There is no further information about these crimes at this time and there are currently no suspect(s).
