Crime of the Week 12/5/22

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

 

On November 27th at approximately 2:30 A.M. Decatur Police responded to the south alley of the 1600 block of E William in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival officers observed a gun shot victim with a non-life-threatening injury to their leg.  The victim was unable to provide any suspect information regarding this shooting.

Officers observed numerous shell casings in this alley and recovered a firearm. 

Officers spoke to a witness who advised an older model “army green” 4-door van was possibly involved as it drove away N/B on 17th, directly after the shooting.  A witness also observed an individual dressed in all black color clothing run directly towards this van right after the shots were fired.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

Over the past several months there have been several thefts from local cemeteries. Unknown subject(s) are stealing brass vases from gravesites and it is believed they are being sold for scrap metal. There is no further information about these crimes at this time and there are currently no suspect(s).

News Release 5/23/12

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week. On May 17th officers responded to Kelly Construction, located at 3536 N 27th Street, in reference to a theft.

Surveillance footage shows on May 13th at 7:00 pm two subjects were on the property loading stainless steel ducts and several stainless steel rings on to the bed of a truck before driving off of the property. Over $11,000.00 worth of materials were stolen.

The suspect vehicle was an older model white flatbed truck with a trailer attached. The suspects in the theft are two white males.

News Release 5/16/12

The Decatur Police Department and Macon County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
Within the past week there have been multiple burglaries to businesses in Decatur and Forsyth. We believe the cases are related due to the suspect’s actions in the incidents. The suspect could also be responsible for burglaries in the Clinton area.

The suspect throws a large rock or brick through a door or window to gain access to the businesses. Once inside the business the suspect gathers jewelry and other valuable items before fleeing the area on foot.

One suspect is described as a white male approximately 5’10 with an average build. The Decatur Police Department and Macon County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in solving these crimes.
