Crime of the week 3/20/23
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
During the overnight hours between February 28th, and March 1st, 2023, several air conditioning units were removed from various addresses in the Wabash Crossing apartment complex. These AC Units were all taken from apartments located in the 1000 block of North Martin Luther King. The suspect(s) also forced entry and removed a water heater from one of the vacant apartments in this block.

News Release 7/1/13
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
At approximately 11:00pm on 5/23/13, an armed robbery occurred at Casey’s General Store, located at 1525 W. Mound Rd. Suspect #1 entered the store armed with a handgun, wearing all dark colored clothing, a black colored ball cap, white Nike shoes with a black swoosh and a blue and white colored bandanna covering his lower face. Suspect #1 held the employees at gunpoint. Suspect#2, wearing all dark colored clothing and a bandana covering his lower face had a duffle bag. Suspect #2 removed cigarettes and US Currency from the safe and registers placing them in the duffle bag. Both suspects fled the store on foot in a southerly direction.

The Decatur Park District Police needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
At approximately 11pm on June 10th, playground equipment, located at Lincoln Park was discovered burned by unknown person(s). Damage to the playground equipment is estimated at $1,500.00 At this time, there are no suspect(s).

The Decatur Police Department and Decatur Fire Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
Sometime during the early morning hours of May 29th, unknown person(s) set fire to playground equipment located at Decatur Day Care, 2075 E. Lake Shore Dr. Decatur Fire Department Inspectors ruled the fire arson. At this time, there are no suspect(s).
