Crime of the Week 6-5-23
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On May 26th, 2023 Decatur Police were made aware of an attempted theft to an ATM machine which occurred at Coffee Connection located at 2505 N Main Street. Officers arrived on scene and observed damaged to the door of the ATM consistent with pry marks.
Surveillance footage was observed and showed the suspects pulling up to the ATM on Sunday, May 21st, 2023 at 12:30 A.M. The suspects arrived driving a gray colored 4 door sedan. The suspects can be seen wearing mostly black colored clothing, masks, and blue surgical gloves.
Both of the suspects prying on the ATM appear to be light skinned black males. To view a photo of the suspects please go to Decaturcrimestoppers.com and click on the wanted faces tab. (photos below)

News Release 3/18/14
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On March 13th at approximately 11:00pm, an armed robbery occurred at the drive up ATM located at 151 N. 22nd St. The victim reported, he was sitting in his vehicle, at the ATM, when he was approached by three black males. The victim reported at least one of the suspects opened his passenger door and pointed a black colored revolver at him demanding the money. The victim advised the suspects forced him to withdraw more money from the ATM and also took money from his wallet. The suspects fled the scene in a southwest direction. The victim described the suspects as black males, all three in their early 20’s weighing 140-160, medium height, wearing all dark clothing.

News Release 3/6/14
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On February 23rd at approximately 4:00am, two black males entered Walgreens, located at 1311 N. Rt. 48. One of the black males had a white styrofoam cup of water in his hand. Both subjects walked around the store for a short time. The subject, with the cup approached a 73 year old employee and threw the cup of water in the employees face. Both subjects the ran out of the store in an unknown direction. Both of these subjects are depicted in wanted faces photos labeled 14-5 in the “wanted faces” section of this website.

News Release 2/4/14
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On January 8th at approximately 2:26am, Officers were detailed to Circle K gas station located at 3798 N. Woodford St in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned the gas station had been robbed of US Currency by a subject yielding a brown handled knife.
The victim described the suspect as a black male, 508-510, 200-220 pounds wearing a black ski mask and hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled atop his head, with a white t-shirt underneath, dark colored pants and white tennis shoes. The victim also advised the suspect had a goatee as she could see this from the design of the ski mask.
Again on January 26th at approximately 10:29pm, officers were detailed to Huck’s gas station located at 204 N. 22nd, where a black male had entered the store, pulled out a knife and demanded the clerk to open the cash drawer. The victim advised the black male removed an amount of US Currency then fled the store.
The victim described the black male as 511-600, muscular build, 19-21 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, green colored bandana covering his face, black jeans and black colored boots.
A white Ford Taurus with an unknown license plate number was involved in both of these armed robberies.
