The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

 

On February 22nd, 2023 at approximately 12:20 A.M. Decatur Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of E Walnut in reference to a shooting. 

 

Officers arrived on scene and observed a residence in this block to have multiple bullet defects.   Officers observed numerous shell casings outside near the rear of the residence.    

Nobody inside the house was struck and the occupant of the residence had no idea who would want to shoot their house.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

The City of Decatur has had multiple thefts of gutters and copper downspouts, from houses and buildings throughout the city.  The suspects are described as a Black male, 18-22 yoa, thin build with Black hair dyed orange on the ends, and a White male, 18-22 yoa, medium build with short Blonde wavy hair.   If you witness anyone suspicious that you believe should not be removing gutters, down spouts or siding from a residence or building please contact the Decatur Police Department immediately.

News Release 08/24/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 08/22/2015, at approximately 1:00 A.M., an Armed Robbery to a person occurred at the intersection of William St. and Witt St.  An unknown Black male, 20-30 yoa, 5’06, 160lbs wearing a T-shirt and light colored sweat pants robbed a pedestrian standing at the corner of the intersection.  The suspect was armed with a Silver handgun and had a Black Ski Mask over his face when the robbery occurred.  The suspect took personal items and money from the victim.  The suspect was last seen walking South on Witt St., from the intersection.

News Release 07/28/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

The City of Decatur has had multiple armed robberies, from 07/24/15 through 07/28/15.  The Huck’s Convenient Food Store at 204 N. 22nd St., Thornton’s at 1707 E. Pershing Rd. and Circle K., 3002 N. Water St. were all victims of these robberies.  The suspect is described as a Black male, 5’08, 190-200pds who was last seen wearing a Dark Blue Sweatshirt, White T-shirt and Dark Blue Sweatpants.  The suspect entered the stores armed with a Black handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.  The suspect used women’s pantyhose over his face to disguise his appearance.
