Crime of the Week 6-10-24
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On June 2nd, 2024 at approximately 11:55 P.M. Decatur Police responded to Express Tobacco located at 1101 N IL Rt. 48 in reference to a burglary. Officers arrived on scene and observed forced entry to a window of this building. Officers checked the business and observed no one inside. Various merchandise along with an undisclosed amount of US currency was missing.
Surveillance cameras captured two suspects inside the business. Both suspects were wearing facial coverings and appear to be male. The first suspect is wearing a black under armor sweatshirt, blue jeans along with a black colored cross body satchel. The second suspect is wearing a black t-shirt with a dark gray hooded shirt underneath, black adidas pants with white stripes on the sides, and a multi-colored backpack.

News Release 10/5/20
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On September 14, 2019 at approximately 5:00PM, Decatur Police Officers responded to a shots fired call located in the 1100 Block of E Cantrell.
On arrival, they located a gunshot victim, later identified as Christopher Stone who was deceased. The investigation revealed Christopher was attending a gender reveal party when a driver in an older model Sedan rode by and committed the shooting. The driver of this Sedan was last seen driving west on Cantrell after the shooting.
Witnesses described the driver of the Sedan to be a b/m, thin build, wearing a bandana over his face. No suspect has been identified.

News Release 9/28/20
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On July 25th, 2020 at approximately 7:00AM Decatur Police responded to Contractors Recycled Material; located at 2290 N Woodford, In reference to an aggravated robbery.
Upon arrival officers spoke to two victims who advised they were robbed by a suspect who implied he had a gun. The victim’s advised the suspect threatened each of their lives and forced them to hand over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect took the money as well as one of the victim’s vehicles and fled the area south on Woodford street prior to police arrival. This vehicle would later be recovered the following day in the 200 block of W Packard. No suspect has been identified
The victims described the suspect as a b/m, between 35-45 years of age, approximately 5’8” and 180lbs. The suspect was described by both victims to have a deep sounding voice.

News Release 9/21/20
The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.
On September 22, 2019 at approximately 1:35pm, Decatur Police Officers responded to a shots fired call located in the 900 block of N Morgan.
On arrival, they located a gunshot victim, who was deceased. The investigation revealed a passenger in a gold Colored Chevrolet Trailblazer committed the shooting. Witnesses described the passenger of this Trailblazer to be a b/m wearing a mask. No suspect was identified.
